Technics
In the gallery on top you will find a number of hand formed objects. Most of these clay-objects were baked in an ordinairy ceramic oven, but a number of them are with the Japanese raku-technic baked in a wood-oven in the open air.
The Experiment
The experimental design is what Miriam Harten likes most in her work. Not knowing where it starts and ends, the object is forming it's own way into space. The growing process of flowers and trees are always part of her work. Seeds, branches, open air between leaves are used to create the ceramics. Paintings are formed with 'engobes' (coloured clay), or with glazes, and mostly with oxydes: green=copper, blue= kobalt, reddish brown= ironoxyde.
